Lovely Overalls

We got a package! A few weeks ago when Mom R was here, I was telling her how much I loved  overalls on little babies/kids. She took what I had to say very seriously and sent Parker a package today. He doesn't appreciate it, but I do. The package was full of overalls and adorable plaid shirts. I LOVE them!. Doesn't he look just adorable.
In addition to having our fun package come in the mail, we watched Once Upon A Time with the Lees.  I made them Phazookies. They had never tried the goodness of this wonderful dessert, and I had to share the magic with them ;).  I have now had phazookies probably 3 time in the last month and I am pretty sure I have hit my quota for a while!

"Younger Brothers"

It's been a long time since we had Tyler's younger brothers over for dinner. So, after a long nap I started prepping for dinner. I made steak with onions mushrooms, potatoes, steamed green beans, fruit smoothies, and creme brulee for dessert. There was a few things I would have changed but overall it was delicious.
I love that two of Tyler's brothers are close. Although we don't see them on a regular basis it's a lot of fun when they do come over. I mean look at this picture, they are bursting with personality ;)

The Smell of Fall

Groceries, Nap,  5 guys, Cleaning,
Crisp fresh air. Leaves changing in my yard

Today was a wonderful layed back Saturday. We did some chores around the house, went grocery shopping, and went on a little date to 5 Guys. I was even able to sneak in a nap in the afternoon.
Although it wasn't a very exciting day it was still a good one. The temperature outside is perfect and our little tree in the backyard has turned from the summer green to a beautiful red-orange. I absolutely love this time of year. It's crisp and all around fantastic.

Kali's Fourteen.. What!?

Today was Kali's fourteenth birthday!  I can't believe she is 14 already, and it's already been a year since we celebrated her birthday.  I am so glad the Miller's are no longer in Washington and live close by. We were able to go over and celebrate with Kali and watch her open her presents. She made her own cupcakes with Josi. Look at her adorable minion cupcakes.

Hobby Lobby
Not really watching

Today was the big game. I don't really care about the rivalry between Utah and BYU.. like at all.  It is a great day for food and friends though.  We had a great time.
We had the Beachs over for dinner and the game. It was great having them over.  We had bratwurst for dinner and then just hung out for the evening.
After dinner Jess and I went to Hobby Lobby to get some Fall craft stuff and decorations. We left the kids with their Dads and went out just us girls. It's the first time since Parker was born that I went anywhere without him.  It was kinda nice. It was a nice just to go out.
Jess and I visited with Jamile while the boys watched the game. While we chatted I set up the flowers on our mantle and started working on our wreath.

Mother of Two

The Miller's went out of town with my parents for the weekend.  Tyler and I spent the night with the kids last night.  While the older kids were at school I got to spend the day with Jasper and Parker.  As much fun as it was to hang out with little guys I had the realization that I am not ready to be a mother of two boys.  Overall it went really well, and I was thinking I could totally do this... Then I had to take a shower.
Parker was sleeping and I was going to take advantage of my window. I put on a movie for Jazzy and headed for the bathroom. As I stepped out of the shower I heard Parker crying, and so I hurried to get dressed. When I made it back to the kids, Jasper was laying on the bed watching the movie with his arm stretched over his head to hold Parker's binki in place. Such a sweet kid.  Jazzy let me know Parker cried most the time I was in the shower..Nice.
I had a great time with the boys though!

I tried to shrink my to-do list down a little bit today but Parker had other plans. He was being a fussy little stinker. So, most the day was unproductive. Around 2:00 we finally got Parker so sleep, so we decided we would take a little nap. I set my alarm for 3:00. After sleeping through my alarm, missing 3 texts, we finally woke up at 5:00! WHAT!?  We had to be at the Riverwoods at 6:00 to meet Gavin for homecoming pictures.  After frantically running to get everything together we ran out the door.
We made it in time, whew!  Not only did we make it in time, but we beat all the other kids by an hour. By the time we started pictures the sun was getting pretty low. It was a bit tricky with the lighting, but I did the best I could.  I told Gavin I was really sorry but some of the pictures were going to be grainy and have flash shadows. My nice flash didn't have any batteries in it, and I didn't discover that until we were already at the shoot. Needless to say it was pretty stressful.
I gave each couple a coupon for a free CD for their next dance. I felt bad that I didn't give them the best photos I could offer.
Although it was stressful we had a lot of fun. I will be excited to do them again.  It was also pretty crazy watching Gavin in the phase of life that I feel was in not that long ago.  I sure do love that kid; he's growing up so fast!

Chalk Festival

Tonight was date night and I was in charge of planning.  I decided we were going to go to the farmers market at the Riverwoods in Provo. There was supposed be a chalk art festival going on to help raise awareness for autism.  Each artist got an assigned parking stall to work in, and judging would be done on Saturday.
We headed down with the Millers and walked around for a bit. The activity ended up being a flop because most the artists hadn't started their pieces yet (it was a two day event.) It was also raining, which isn't really a good thing. We had fun walking around with the Millers though. We got pictures taken in front of silly props and got delicious caramel apples at Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory.. I really love these apples, remember?
Although the chalk festival wasn't that cool, we did enjoy the rest of the evening back at the Millers.

Da Hills

Most the day was spent either spending time with Parker or working on the computer. Not too exciting, but the second half of the day was pretty awesome.  I had the photo shoot with Hill's. But the fun began even before that.   After getting everything ready for the photo shoot I picked up Kali, so she could babysit Parker.  On our way back home, I decided we would just pick up Tyler on the way to the shoot and go strait there.
After arriving at Tyler's work (he didn't know we were coming) I decided to have a little fun. I was originally just going to text him and have him meet us in the parking lot, but I decided we would pull a little prank on Tyler. I jumped out of the car, climbed into his car, moved it to the other side of the parking lot, and waited. he he he I'm so funny.
After hiding his car, I sent him a text telling him to let me know when he is on his way home. About 5 minutes late Tyler sent me a message letting me know he was on his way out.  With in a few minutes Kali and I peered out the windows as Tyler walked over to where his car should be and kinda just stood there.  He looked around a little and looked ever so confused. Tyler would start to walk back to the building and stop, look back, and keep walking.
On his way back to the building he called me. I picked up the phone and the conversation went as follows, "hi babe, you on your way home."  "What why not?"  "You LOST the car!!" ...  I didn't last long. I started giggling and sent Kali after him. HE HE we are so funny.
Off to the photo shoot!  The Hill's are an fun family in my ward, and the kids are absolutely adorable. I had a blast taking pictures with them. Aren't they such a cute family. I was really nervous for them to turn out though. Aubrey (the mom) is a photography as well, and that is always nerve racking. I am really happy with how they turned out though.

Parker Pants

Photo shoot with Parker to practice
Tonight Tyler was my super hero.  I have a photo shoot tomorrow and needed to practice at the location because I have never done a shoot there before. This may not seem like a big enough deal to have Tyler be considered a hero, but Tyler hates having me practice on him. So, that fact that he was willing to help me out was a big deal.  I am so glad he was willing because my goodness, I had so much fun.  I was able to take pictures of my two boys and it just made my heart happy!  I don't know how to explain how much I love I have for these two.  I know these pictures will always make me smile.

"Girls Night"

Oh what a wonderful rainy day it was today! The day was mostly uneventful but the evening was nice and relaxing. The Shaw's are remodeling their upstairs and needed as many helping hands as possible.  So, all the boys drove to Logan to start the demolition. I decided we should have girls night!  With everyone's crazy schedules we ended up not really having a "girls night."  We had Jenny, Josi, the boys, Mom Russell, and me over to our place for a movie night. We picked the most exciting of movies, The Goofy Movie!  These poor deprived children had never seen it.  They can now be considered truly cultured.
It was sure a lot of fun watching the three Miller boys ooing and awing over Parker.  They made sure to tell me everything that he was doing. "Parker just stared right at me,"  "Parker just sneezed."  It will be fun to watch Parker do the same thing with his younger siblings in the future.
