Weed Whacker!

As a graduation present Mom and Dad Russell bought us some yard supplies/tools. Yippee! It may not seem very exciting, but I love it! They bought us a hose, a weed whacker/ edger thing, sheers, and some other yard equipment. Progress to being successful home owners.
After running errands and seeing my family at the park we spent a couple hours in the yard working.  Sean and Britt joined up with us in the evening and we went out to Chili's for dinner. Going to dinner was hilarious,  I love the Russell family.  I lucked out with having in-laws that I get along with and love. When we got home from dinner we all sat around, chatted, and ate French pastries. With such a busy day I was pretty wiped out, I fell asleep on the couch while everyone kept chatting. Tyler eventually drug me upstairs for bed!  What a wonderful weekend :)

My Graduation

For more graduation pictures go HERE
I finally did it! I graduated from college, with honors, in Digital Media: Project and Information Management. I absolutely love it. I get some business, digital design, and other great skills. I may never actually use my degree but I know I will be able to use what I learned all the time.
It was one busy day, and I was pooped by the end of it. We woke up early and headed to Salt Lake. Tyler had a job interview in the morning and so Mom R, Dad R, and I went up and went shopping for the accessories to my grad outfit while we waited. While we were up in SLC we went to Les Madeleines Patesserie.  They are famous for their Kouing Aman (a delicious pastry.) If you haven't been before, GO, you won't regret it! That was my favorite part of the whole trip up.
We hurried back home so we could grab a bite to eat, and change into our clothes.  I wanted to make sure I was on time and not stressed about getting there.  I worried for no reason, once I was there I waited in the back hallway for an hour or so.
The ceremony was like most graduations, long and really only exciting when I walked up and received my diploma. It was worth is though. It was the final thing to close off my college experience!
After the graduation I was ready for a nap.  Tyler and I took a quick nap at home while Tyler's parents headed out for some errands. We woke up from our "short" nap to the door bell ringing. The Lee's were there and ready to start the party.
Shortly after family started arriving, and we were a full house.  Tyler's parents came back with balloons and a banner to hang. My whole family (minus the Jenkins), Tyler's parents, and two brothers all came to help celebrate.  I think we had about 30 people at our house.  I felt loved.
After eating delicious food and visiting Jenny brought out 30 balloons(that matched my outfit) for a balloon launch. Each person had a balloon to signify all my stresses of school floating away! It was pretty awesome, thank Jenny! We only got to see the balloons for a couple seconds cause the wind blew them all to the other side of the house. he he
After is started to get chilly we headed inside for brownies and ice cream.  From there it became nice and relaxed and people slowly left throughout the evening.
It was wonderfully exhausting day :)

*On a not so happy note. After the party was over I received a text from my mom letting me know that my grandpa had passed away.  I didn't get a chance to say goodbye.  I was planning to go and visit the next morning but didn't get the chance. I will miss my grandpa. It was a wonderful man, and I hope I can live up to standards he set for his family!

The Perfect shoes.

I wanted to have a new adorable outfit for graduation, but was having a bit of difficulty trying to find something fun, comfortable AND flattering.  Last weekend I did however find a coral skirt that is long and flowy.  I had one piece to the outfit but now I had find everything else to go along with it.  I was hoping to find some cute white wedges, and a white lace top match, but it turned out to be trickier than I thought.
Today was dedicated to finding the rest of my outfit. Mom Russell flew into town last night and spent the day shopping with me. I quickly found a lace top at Downeast, but finding the right shoes and accessories was challenging.  After shopping all day, buying fun things that didn't have anything to do with my outfit, and being completely exhausted we headed home to relax.
After not finding the right white shoes earlier in the day Mom R suggested going with an accent color shoes and accessories to match. Brilliant!  Even broadening our options I still was struggling.  Mom R did some online searching and found the perfect shoes.  That night while getting everything for the graduation party I ran to Kohl's and found the perfect shoes.  They were the only ones in my size out of all the colors offered. I was one lucky girl.  Even better, they were on sale!
Fun shopping day with Mom R, and adorable new shoes that I will be able to wear again after the baby comes!

Last Day of School... EVER!

Today was my last day of classes as a college student! I feel like there should be trumpets playing, or awesome music to celebrate. In order to celebrate Tyler and I went to Los Hermanos (one of my favorites), and had delicious Chinese food.. he he just kidding, it was Mexican.
School has been a wonderful experience and I am grateful I had the chance to complete my degree. I am also so grateful that I am done. I am ready for the next chapter of my life.

30 Weeks!

I am 30 weeks now, and my goodness am I ready to have this baby.  Don't get me wrong, I am so very grateful to be pregnant and to have this baby coming, but being pregnant really isn't easy.  This past weekend we went and bought me some new shirts though. Having clothes that actually fit, and helps me look/feel less like a whale has been very helpful.

Things I love about being pregnant:
Feeling Parker move and dance inside (probably won't like it when I am bigger, but I love it for now) Watching Tyler talk to my belly, and listening to him tell Parker how he is going to love computers and soccer and his mommy .. :)
Planning the nursery

Things I miss about not being pregnant that I won't take for granted again:
Sleeping on my back or stomach.. (oh I miss it)
Not having to pee all the time
Being able to do things by myself - lifting boxes, climbing up stools to get things, paint..ETC
Touching my toes, getting up off the ground/couch/bed
Exercise (who knew right)
Sushi

Cankles!

Before I got pregnant I was nervous about fat ankles, and not because I thought they would hurt. I simply think fat ankles are super gross and ugly.  Don't worry, because I am vain karma came back to get me.  I have cankles (calf ankles)!  After church today Tyler asked me how my feet were doing and looking down I thought they weren't doing to bad... until I took my shoes off.  I had a deep indent of where my shoes were and where the swelling was around them.   This picture was taken about 5 minutes after I had propped my feet up, and they are still huge! We'll see how the rest of this pregnancy goes.
Oh well, if anything, this will teach me to appreciate my small feet after the baby comes.

Baby Clothes

I can't wait for our little guy to be here, and to put him in these adorable clothes!  Grandma Lee went to Costco today and got Parker his first set of new clothes. EEek! 2.5 months to go and this little man will be here with us :)
Between work and school there isn't much to report for the last few days.  Lame, I know. Once school is out and I can't use my brain for other things I will be able to devote more time to keeping track of my life!  So, close to graduation!

Boom Baby -28 Weeks

This picture may not show it very well but my belly is getting pretty big! Due to my increasing size I feel like anytime I take a picture with my belly I need to strike a "boom baby" Kuzco pose.. and well hear it is. It doesn't show my belly size very well, but I still feel like it is a good representation of the time.
Being a photographer I though for sure I would stay on top of taking pregnancy photos and documenting everything along the way, but I have failed.  Between work and school I have been so extremely busy that it hasn't been at the top of my list of things to get done.
I did however have a doctors appointment today. Everything is looking good. I am measuring correctly, and it was a pretty uneventful visit. I did find out that I gained 9 lbs in the last month! AAhhh..   I know you are supposed to gain weight when you are pregnant, but not that much. Because I didn't gain very much in the beginning months it has all equaled out alright, but I am still needing to be careful with what I eat. I'll be excited when I can exercise more freely!

Parkers Comforter

EEk :) I have been looking at nursery ideas and trying to decide what I wanted to do for the Parker's room. I was looking at adorable quilts and comforters but they were all extremely expensive. I was not about to spend $130 on the comforter along. So, I looked to my mom for some help. We went out and found all fabric we would need for the comforter, pillows, bed skirt, and curtains. I still spent $80, but in comparison to what I was seeing I saved a ton, AND I got to pick out exactly what I wanted. Mom and I designed the quilt and over two Friday afternoons we cut and pieced together the quilt.
Over conference weekend I brought the blanket to my mom's house and had my sisters and nieces help me stitch the quilt together.  It is going to be adorable when I finish it!
The picture doesn't show the complete product (still not finished), but the binding on the quilt is going to have another thin-thin line of green to tie it all together.  The other accents in the room will be perfect!
