Parker and Hobbes

Merry Christmas! One of my favorite presents that we gave Parker this year was a stuffed tiger that looks like Hobbes. When Parker was about a month old we have a picture of him with spikey hair and he looks just like Calvin.  After seeing this adorable tiger at Target I had to get it for him. Next Halloween this little man is going to be Calvin and Hobbes.

Sealing Day

Lizy was sealed to DeAnna and Andrew today. It was such a special experience watching this cute family get sealed together. I am beyond grateful that families can be together forever.
The best part of the entire experience was watching DeAnna and Andrew when they first saw Lizy come in (they hadn't seen her in the temple yet.)  Lizy walked in all dressed in white, he hair pulled back in a pretty white bow, and had the most angelic glow about her. As soon as she walked in DeAnna gasped and started to cry. It didn't take long for everyone to be in tears after watching such a sweet moment.

Oh Christmas Tree!

We went Christmas tree shopping for family home evening tonight and found the perfect tree! It was kinda ridiculous, but I felt like a little kid again. I was getting super excited about something so simple. I loved the whole experience.

Turkey Bowling

It's a Russell tradition to go bowling every Thanksgiving, but this year because we were with the Lee family we decided to go bowling with the Lees instead. It was a ton of fun having the family get together and do something fun. We always have fun, but going out and doing something other than a movie at home was a fun change.

Great Grandma Duncan

We spent the evening with my mom and grandma. We had tomato soup surprise for dinner, played cards, and took some 4 generation pictures.  Pretty sure my grandma is the cutest, especially when she is holding my little boy.

Bombay House

Every other Thursday Tyler stays at work and has "Hack Night."  This leaves me free to have a night out with the girls.  Tonight we decided to try out Bombay House.  It was delicious! I love Indian food. I even ran into my old friend from Timpview. It was great to see her and reminisce about how I dumped water down her cousins pants once.
After dinner we watched some good ol' Gilmore Girls.  Almost to season 6, and it's only taken 6 years for us to get there.

Stroll Around the Block

Parker and I went for a walk today, in search of new photo locations. It was a great success, and we were able to enjoy one of the last days of beautiful weather. After our walk I cam to the front of the stroller to pick him up and he was just holding on as we went. Funny kid.

Apple Juice

Because Parker has started eating rice cereal his BMs haven't been real regular. I order to help him out our pediatrician suggested giving him apple juice.  Yeah, we are going to have to find a new solution to that problem.  He doesn't like it very much.

Friendly Halloween

We had a blast having our first Halloween in our home with friends!  We had a couple friend leave early and come late and so we don't have a picture of them, but we got most the girls in a shot. We had Chili, and soggy cornbread, took pictures with my awesome backdrop, played the cookie face game, and played pictionary.  I wasn't 100% sure what to do at a Halloween Party but it was fun all the same.

Four Months!

Girls Night Hack Night

For Girls night tonight we went to the great store of Target. While looking for anniversary gifts for Tyler we found these crazy hats! The before and after turkey hats. They were only $1.00!  I should have bought them.

Roll On Over

Parker is still learning to like tummy time, and is right on the verge of rolling over. He started to roll over a few weeks ago but he forgot how to do it. As I was filming I realized I am always the one behind the camera. I made Tyler take a picture of the two of us as proof that I really am involved in Parker's life!

Slice

I really wanted an Irish cream steamer tonight, but sadly that didn't happen. The cap had crystalized shut from the sugar. So, as a last resort Tyler took some pliers to the lid to try and twist the lid of. Instead of the lid coming off the glass shattered and Tyler ended up slicing his finger open instead.
To avoid a trip to the ER we super glued his cut closed.  I went to the store to get some bandages and splint to make sure he didn't bend his finger. Poor guy, I bought him his favorite ice cream to make it better.

Conference Weekend!

Conference weekend
Pictures with the Lees

I absolutely love conference weekend. This conference was the first time that I haven't had school to worry about over the weekend. Previously I had to worry about what assignments I wasn't working on while I watched or I was cramming in working on homework between sessions. This time however, the only distraction I had was Parker. This scenario was much better.
Between sessions on Saturday we headed up Provo Canyon with the Lees. We took pictures of their cute family and attempted family pictures with us, but Parker would not have it. It was such beautiful day.  I love the fall!

Photo Shoot!

I had such a great time taking pictures for the Andreason's tonight. They had the cutest little kids. It was a little chilly but they warmed up by the end. This picture is probably my favorite of the whole shoot. The little guy in the middle made pretty awesome serious faces the whole time. It was awesome!

Happy little Porch

sleepy parker, wreath, decor!

Sometime the uneventful days are the best. Parker took a nice long nap in the afternoon which left me to do some crafting. I have missed being able to do little projects. Parker doesn't usually sleep very long and requires all my attention when I am awake. Today however, I had a few minutes to myself.
While Parker was sleeping I was able to finally finish the wreath I had started when I was with Jess. I set up our front porch all cute for the fall. I am pretty happy with how it all turned out. I am going to get another big pumpkin to go where Tyler is standing.
Mmmm I love the fall.

All Tuckered Out

What a day.  I had lots of errands to run today and lots to do at home. I went to Forever Young Shoes, Costco, the bank, location hunting, Hobby Lobby, and the grocery store.  After running errands I cleaned the house, and made dinner.  Needless to say by the end of this very busy day we were tuckered out and ready to do nothing.

Lovely Overalls

We got a package! A few weeks ago when Mom R was here, I was telling her how much I loved  overalls on little babies/kids. She took what I had to say very seriously and sent Parker a package today. He doesn't appreciate it, but I do. The package was full of overalls and adorable plaid shirts. I LOVE them!. Doesn't he look just adorable.
In addition to having our fun package come in the mail, we watched Once Upon A Time with the Lees.  I made them Phazookies. They had never tried the goodness of this wonderful dessert, and I had to share the magic with them ;).  I have now had phazookies probably 3 time in the last month and I am pretty sure I have hit my quota for a while!

"Younger Brothers"

It's been a long time since we had Tyler's younger brothers over for dinner. So, after a long nap I started prepping for dinner. I made steak with onions mushrooms, potatoes, steamed green beans, fruit smoothies, and creme brulee for dessert. There was a few things I would have changed but overall it was delicious.
I love that two of Tyler's brothers are close. Although we don't see them on a regular basis it's a lot of fun when they do come over. I mean look at this picture, they are bursting with personality ;)

The Smell of Fall

Groceries, Nap,  5 guys, Cleaning,
Crisp fresh air. Leaves changing in my yard

Today was a wonderful layed back Saturday. We did some chores around the house, went grocery shopping, and went on a little date to 5 Guys. I was even able to sneak in a nap in the afternoon.
Although it wasn't a very exciting day it was still a good one. The temperature outside is perfect and our little tree in the backyard has turned from the summer green to a beautiful red-orange. I absolutely love this time of year. It's crisp and all around fantastic.

Kali's Fourteen.. What!?

Today was Kali's fourteenth birthday!  I can't believe she is 14 already, and it's already been a year since we celebrated her birthday.  I am so glad the Miller's are no longer in Washington and live close by. We were able to go over and celebrate with Kali and watch her open her presents. She made her own cupcakes with Josi. Look at her adorable minion cupcakes.

Utah VS BYU

Hobby Lobby
Crafts
Not really watching
Fun

Today was the big game. I don't really care about the rivalry between Utah and BYU.. like at all.  It is a great day for food and friends though.  We had a great time.
We had the Beachs over for dinner and the game. It was great having them over.  We had bratwurst for dinner and then just hung out for the evening.
After dinner Jess and I went to Hobby Lobby to get some Fall craft stuff and decorations. We left the kids with their Dads and went out just us girls. It's the first time since Parker was born that I went anywhere without him.  It was kinda nice. It was a nice just to go out.
Jess and I visited with Jamile while the boys watched the game. While we chatted I set up the flowers on our mantle and started working on our wreath.

Mother of Two

The Miller's went out of town with my parents for the weekend.  Tyler and I spent the night with the kids last night.  While the older kids were at school I got to spend the day with Jasper and Parker.  As much fun as it was to hang out with little guys I had the realization that I am not ready to be a mother of two boys.  Overall it went really well, and I was thinking I could totally do this... Then I had to take a shower.
Parker was sleeping and I was going to take advantage of my window. I put on a movie for Jazzy and headed for the bathroom. As I stepped out of the shower I heard Parker crying, and so I hurried to get dressed. When I made it back to the kids, Jasper was laying on the bed watching the movie with his arm stretched over his head to hold Parker's binki in place. Such a sweet kid.  Jazzy let me know Parker cried most the time I was in the shower..Nice.
I had a great time with the boys though!

Homecoming

I tried to shrink my to-do list down a little bit today but Parker had other plans. He was being a fussy little stinker. So, most the day was unproductive. Around 2:00 we finally got Parker so sleep, so we decided we would take a little nap. I set my alarm for 3:00. After sleeping through my alarm, missing 3 texts, we finally woke up at 5:00! WHAT!?  We had to be at the Riverwoods at 6:00 to meet Gavin for homecoming pictures.  After frantically running to get everything together we ran out the door.
We made it in time, whew!  Not only did we make it in time, but we beat all the other kids by an hour. By the time we started pictures the sun was getting pretty low. It was a bit tricky with the lighting, but I did the best I could.  I told Gavin I was really sorry but some of the pictures were going to be grainy and have flash shadows. My nice flash didn't have any batteries in it, and I didn't discover that until we were already at the shoot. Needless to say it was pretty stressful.
I gave each couple a coupon for a free CD for their next dance. I felt bad that I didn't give them the best photos I could offer.
Although it was stressful we had a lot of fun. I will be excited to do them again.  It was also pretty crazy watching Gavin in the phase of life that I feel was in not that long ago.  I sure do love that kid; he's growing up so fast!

Chalk Festival

Tonight was date night and I was in charge of planning.  I decided we were going to go to the farmers market at the Riverwoods in Provo. There was supposed be a chalk art festival going on to help raise awareness for autism.  Each artist got an assigned parking stall to work in, and judging would be done on Saturday.
We headed down with the Millers and walked around for a bit. The activity ended up being a flop because most the artists hadn't started their pieces yet (it was a two day event.) It was also raining, which isn't really a good thing. We had fun walking around with the Millers though. We got pictures taken in front of silly props and got delicious caramel apples at Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory.. I really love these apples, remember?
Although the chalk festival wasn't that cool, we did enjoy the rest of the evening back at the Millers.

Da Hills

Most the day was spent either spending time with Parker or working on the computer. Not too exciting, but the second half of the day was pretty awesome.  I had the photo shoot with Hill's. But the fun began even before that.   After getting everything ready for the photo shoot I picked up Kali, so she could babysit Parker.  On our way back home, I decided we would just pick up Tyler on the way to the shoot and go strait there.
After arriving at Tyler's work (he didn't know we were coming) I decided to have a little fun. I was originally just going to text him and have him meet us in the parking lot, but I decided we would pull a little prank on Tyler. I jumped out of the car, climbed into his car, moved it to the other side of the parking lot, and waited. he he he I'm so funny.
After hiding his car, I sent him a text telling him to let me know when he is on his way home. About 5 minutes late Tyler sent me a message letting me know he was on his way out.  With in a few minutes Kali and I peered out the windows as Tyler walked over to where his car should be and kinda just stood there.  He looked around a little and looked ever so confused. Tyler would start to walk back to the building and stop, look back, and keep walking.
On his way back to the building he called me. I picked up the phone and the conversation went as follows, "hi babe, you on your way home."  "What why not?"  "You LOST the car!!" ...  I didn't last long. I started giggling and sent Kali after him. HE HE we are so funny.
Off to the photo shoot!  The Hill's are an fun family in my ward, and the kids are absolutely adorable. I had a blast taking pictures with them. Aren't they such a cute family. I was really nervous for them to turn out though. Aubrey (the mom) is a photography as well, and that is always nerve racking. I am really happy with how they turned out though.

Parker Pants

Photo shoot with Parker to practice
Tonight Tyler was my super hero.  I have a photo shoot tomorrow and needed to practice at the location because I have never done a shoot there before. This may not seem like a big enough deal to have Tyler be considered a hero, but Tyler hates having me practice on him. So, that fact that he was willing to help me out was a big deal.  I am so glad he was willing because my goodness, I had so much fun.  I was able to take pictures of my two boys and it just made my heart happy!  I don't know how to explain how much I love I have for these two.  I know these pictures will always make me smile.

"Girls Night"

Oh what a wonderful rainy day it was today! The day was mostly uneventful but the evening was nice and relaxing. The Shaw's are remodeling their upstairs and needed as many helping hands as possible.  So, all the boys drove to Logan to start the demolition. I decided we should have girls night!  With everyone's crazy schedules we ended up not really having a "girls night."  We had Jenny, Josi, the boys, Mom Russell, and me over to our place for a movie night. We picked the most exciting of movies, The Goofy Movie!  These poor deprived children had never seen it.  They can now be considered truly cultured.
It was sure a lot of fun watching the three Miller boys ooing and awing over Parker.  They made sure to tell me everything that he was doing. "Parker just stared right at me,"  "Parker just sneezed."  It will be fun to watch Parker do the same thing with his younger siblings in the future.

Smile

Parker has started to smile for us!  He has always been cute but being able to get him to smile is the funnest thing! Ah I love it!

And what is this.

Bath Time

Parker still doesn't like the bath! Maybe one day he will be able to enjoy it.

Pioneer Day

To celebrate the 24th we had a BBQ with my parents and the Millers, and then headed down to Spanish Fork for Fiesta Days. I was a bit nervous. Parker is only a month old and I wasn't sure how he was going to handle the fireworks but he was a champ and slept through the whole thing. It was a lot of fun hanging out with the K.Lees and actually getting out of the house. I think this was one of the first times since Parker was born that I actually did my hair and make-up.

Three Weeks

Because the last photo shoot consisted of a ton of pictures of Parker scowling I wanted to try again.  With Grandma R's help we were able to get a ton of adorable shots of this cute little guy. He has huge expressive eyes and so much hair. I love his little fingers and toes.

Sleepy

How can you not love pictures of sleeping baby and Daddy.  The two boys in my life and I love them more than ever.  As I have been posting about our lives lately I feel like a broken record, but I have so much love for my life that is bursting out and I can't help it.

Our Life

Tyler has now gone back to work and we miss him like crazy. I loved having him home for a whole week. This is a good picture to describe our lived at the moment. Happy to have Parker, whiped out, luxuries (like shaving) that you take for granted go right out the window, and loving the time we have to cuddle this little guy.

Two Weeks Old

Parker is two weeks old today and I am just getting his newborn shots done. I didn't have the energy to even move. Even just doing the 20 minute photo shoot wore me out. I am happy with how the pictures turned out.  He is such a handsome little boy, even though he was pretty much scowling in all the pictures. He has a permanent furrowed brow when he is awake. He is just trying to figure the world out.

Grandma and Grandpa Russell

Grandma and Grandpa Russell drove in from Oregon to meet their newest grandson. It's so much fun watching other people love my little guy. Grandma is going to stay  for two weeks to help me with the transition and give me and Tyler as much sleep as possible.

First Bath

Parker wasn't quite sure how he felt about the bath.  Poor little guy. Hopefully he will start to like it soon, because there is no way of escaping it. He sure looks pretty cute though!

Bilibed

Parker has to be put on the bilibed because his biliruben levels are too high. Which basically means that he has jaundice and the lights from this table make it better. It's really hard having him get upset and not being able to pick him up and comfort him. The only times we can take him off the bed is to feed him or change him. :(  I am grateful for the bed and yet I hate it. (he ended up being on the bed for five days and it was miserable)

2 Days Old

He is so small and adorable I just love him.  I love his dark hair and chubby cheeks.  He is perfect in every way.
